Hello K2C Blooms!

It has been busy 8 months. I opened K2CBlooms where I sell hand made Newborn Photo Props. I have been working with Newborn Photographers. It has been a learning curve for me  but I have been enjoying it a lot. And at the end I get to see cute pics of babies in my hand knit Props. Hope you enjoy them!

Super Bowl Pom Pom Beanie Revisited!

New England Patriot's Beanie
Seattle Sea Hawks Beanie

Super Bowl XLIX is around the corner and this time it is between Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots. So I decided to make Pom Pom beanies with Team colors of these two teams using my original pattern here with some minor changes. I switched the colors randomly this time creating a new color sequence for each beanie . Also I added a knit look band to finish off the beanie .

Revised Pattern for this new look

Follow the original pattern up to row 11.
Round 12: Hdc in the 3rd loop of the next stitch all around.
Round 13: Repeat Row 12.
Round 14: Sc in the 3rd loop all around and finish off. Cut 6" tail and weave in the end.

Color change sequence for the SeaHawk Hat
Round 1 - 4 Blue
Round 5 - 6 White
Round 7 - 10 Green
Round 11 - 14 Blue

Color change sequence for the New England Patriot Hat
Round 1 - 4 Grey
Round 5  Red
Round 6  White
Round 7   Red
Round 8 - 10  Blue
Round 11 - 14 Grey

Half double Crochet in the 3rd loop gives a knit look finish to the hat. There is a very nice tutorial and a video here which tells you how to look for the 3rd loop behind the next stitch.
Have fun making these beanies and remember you can make them for any team colors or even single color if you want. This is a great project for scrap yarn :)

Yarnspirations

One of my New Year Resolution for 2015 is to EXPLORE more. I have always loved to take pictures of beautiful things. With all the technology and Photo apps available these days, it is very easy to do that. So I am going to be posting Random pics of Fibers I use for my knits,  things I make with them and my Inspirations !

Claudia's Handpainted Yarn

This is a Soft Merino Wool in Camouflage color way. I made a Baby Hat with this for a custom order. Unfortunately this is a discontinued Yarn but I have some in stock so you can buy the hat from my Etsy shop here or you can use any other worsted weight yarn to make one with this pattern here .
I would highly recommend using a hand painted yarn.

Soft Merino Wool Baby Hat

Aurora Melange Yarn

This is a very fine Merino Wool by Karabella Yarns. I am currently using it to make men's hats for my Etsy shop.
Stay tuned for more Yarnspirational pics :)

I used Instasize App to edit these pics.
PRO: I love the app, so easy to use and you can have professional quality pics in minutes for FREE :)
CON: Sometimes it does not want to show all the pics from your phone, so you have to work your way around it :(

NOTE: If you want to use these pics, link back to this blog and give me credit.
Please do not use these pics and claim them as yours.
Thank you!

Willow Creek Throw (Revised Version)

I knitted this blanket for a friend. Original pattern is here and it calls for knitting 4 panels and sewing them together at the end.
I revised the pattern to knit it in one piece to avoid sewing at the end .
My blanket is  a bigger size (46" x 60") which was equivalent to knitting 6 panels and would not recommend doing bigger than 6 panels as the blanket can get really heavy.
I used a bigger needle size cause I liked the loose look of the cables.
It is a beautiful, big, warm and cozy blanket .
My version of the pattern is at the end of this post, just replace the main body of the original pattern.
Enjoy and A Happy New Year!
