Friday Feature | Newborn Photographer | Meet Abrah Zion

At K2CBlooms I offer hand made photography props for newborn & baby photography made with natural fibers in gorgeous color palettes. I also take custom requests for props. Sometimes these requests are for simple color choices and other times they can be for intricate character props that I have to design. Making these character props is sometimes challenging but the end result is always rewarding. It's always fun to see these characters come to life on these beautiful babies.

Every photographer that I work with has their own unique style. One thing that I have had to learn the most about, coming into this business, is to work more with neutral colors over bright colors. I love vibrant colors, they make me happy as they are part of who I am and where I come from.  Abrah, fulfills that need for me on every level. She works with neutrals, colors, textures and creates beautiful setups with them.

I met Abrah through The Motherhood Society, an elite group of newborn photographers and businesses that cater to the newborn industry. I do lots of custom work for Abrah. She is famous for her storybook setting backdrops and will request specific colors and character props. My favorite one so far has to be Raggedy Ann and Andy that I created for her.

So here's Abrah!!
Visit her website to see more of her beautiful work.

Tell me a little bit about you, your work & style.
I am foremost a mom to two beautiful girls and a wife to my best friend.  I have passion for babies and photography, the color purple and cookies and cream ice cream.  :-)
My work is creative, whimsical, and fun but also capture timeless images as well. I strive to personalize every single session so that it's just what my clients are dreaming of. I provide all the props - clothing, hats, headbands, wraps, etc.
I also have a fully stocked boutique style studio - filled with diapers, wipes, brand new pacifiers, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, water and snacks. I like everyone to feel comfortable. Safety is my top priority - and I have had several in person classes on newborn safety and newborn posing. I also take health very seriously as well. All of the props that I provide are all washed in free and clear detergent after each use.
I provide many options for final images - all heirloom quality products - so you can display the beautiful artwork I've created for generations to come. Everything I do is personalized to each client. We meet for consultations to plan everything out. Two weeks after their photo session, they come back in for an in person ordering session. At that session, besides showcasing their gorgeous images for them to choose, I show them what their photographs will look like on their own walls before they purchase anything.

How long have you been in the business?
I've been in business since 2011 - so just about 7 years.

What is your favorite age to photograph and what is your favorite pose?
Newborns are by far my favorite subject to photograph. They can be the most challenging but also the most rewarding. I love prop poses where I can create a one of a kind set-up for each individual client. I take inspiration from my clients, their likes and interests, and incorporate these into each session. Because of this every session is completely unique and the images are deeply meaningful to my clients.

Would you like to share some of your achievements with us?
I've been published twice in  The Art of Pregnancy and Newborn
I've won the Parents' Choice Award 3 years in a row from Beauty and Lifestyle Mommy Magazine and I have been published twice with them.
I've had one of my images chosen for the Tiny Wings Foundation newborn calendar for 2017.
I won first place in the Best of the Best of the South Coast for photographers.
I've also had several images place as finalists in the Shoot & Share international photo contest in 2017.

Where can we find you?
My studio is located in New Bedford, MA. I'm about an hour south of Boston, 45 minutes West of Cape Cod and 30 minutes East of Providence, RI.
